Delirium Care

Inpatient Delirium — Prevention, Persistence, and Outcomes

Dr. Bradley's delirium research examines the epidemiology and outcomes of inpatient delirium in older adults, with a focus on persistent delirium as an independent predictor of increased length of stay and in-hospital mortality. This work integrates clinical observation with large-scale data analysis to characterize delirium subtypes and inform evidence-based prevention protocols — including the development of the iDREAM program, recognized with the 2022 NICHE & ABIM Foundation Choosing Wisely Trailblazer Award.

AI & Predictive Modeling

Artificial Intelligence in Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine

Applying machine learning and predictive modeling to the care of older and seriously ill patients, this research focuses on identifying patterns of frailty progression, Long COVID sequelae, and treatment response in veteran and community populations. Drawing on engineering training in systems optimization and large administrative datasets, the goal is to develop clinically actionable decision-support tools for geriatric and palliative care teams — augmenting clinical judgment with data-driven insight.

Theology of Suffering

The Spiritual Dimensions of Aging, Dying, and the Care of the Whole Person

At the intersection of palliative medicine and theological inquiry, this research explores the nature of suffering as experienced by the dying and the aged — drawing on Orthodox Christian theology, applied apologetics, and pastoral counseling to address what clinical medicine alone cannot. The aim is to develop an integrative framework for whole-person care that honors the body, mind, and soul of every patient, and to equip clinicians and chaplains with the theological resources to accompany patients through the hardest moments of human life.

iDREAM

Inpatient Delirium Reduction & Early Acute Management

A non-pharmacologic delirium prevention and management protocol designed for inpatient settings. iDREAM operationalizes evidence-based prevention strategies at scale — embedding early screening, staff education, environmental interventions, and family engagement into the standard workflow of inpatient geriatric care.

ALIGN

Assessment for Lifestyle Intervention and Goal Navigation

A goal-concordant care framework that begins by identifying what matters most to each patient — family, wellness, freedom — then aligns those personal values with individualized health goals to improve quality of life. ALIGN bridges the gap between patient priorities and clinical decision-making through structured assessment and shared goal navigation.

Specialty Clinic

Long COVID Clinic

Geriatric Care for Long COVID & Post-COVID Syndromes

A dedicated clinical program providing specialized geriatric evaluation and management for older adults experiencing Long COVID and other post-COVID syndromes. Drawing on peer-reviewed research in COVID-related frailty progression, cancer incidence, and pharmacological interventions, this clinic addresses the complex, multi-system sequelae of COVID-19 — including frailty, cognitive decline, fatigue, and functional impairment — through a whole-person, evidence-based approach.
